Washington School Groundbreaking Ceremony

We were honored to join Jefferson Parish Schools, community leaders, and project partners for the groundbreaking ceremony of the new Washington School campus in Jefferson Parish. This state-of-the-art Pre-K through 8th-grade school will be built on the current Bunche Elementary site and represents a $48 million investment in modern educational facilities by the Jefferson Parish School Board.

Design Engineering, Inc. is proud to be part of this transformative project through our work on the Bunche Elementary Airline Crossing. This new bridge will connect the campus directly to Airline Highway, helping to ease traffic flow and provide safer, more convenient access for students, families, and the surrounding community.

The new Washington School will feature innovative “pod” designs aimed at fostering collaborative learning and enhancing campus safety. We are excited to work alongside Grace Hebert Curtis Architects and Jefferson Parish Schools to help bring this vision to life.

Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony Marks Completion of Power Blvd

Design Engineering, Inc. (DEI) joined the City of Kenner today to celebrate the ribbon-cutting ceremony for the Power Blvd. Median Improvements project. The event was attended by Jefferson Parish Councilwoman Arita Bohannan (District 4), Mayor Michael Glaser, and several council members from the City of Kenner.

DEI was responsible for providing Construction Engineering & Inspection (CE&I) services, ensuring the project was executed according to the highest standards. The improvements included a combined bike and pedestrian pathway extending from West Esplanade Ave. to Vintage Drive, along with a new pedestrian bridge over the canal at Vintage Drive.

The enhancements aimed to increase safety and accessibility for residents, with updates to the concrete paving, drainage, lighting, and landscaping. Mayor Glaser praised the collaborative effort, highlighting the positive impact on the Kenner community’s quality of life.

DEI expresses its gratitude to the City of Kenner and the DOTD for entrusting us with this significant role in delivering a successful project.
