Project Information
The Power Blvd. Median Improvements project enhanced pedestrian and cyclist infrastructure along Power Boulevard between West Esplanade Avenue and Vintage Drive in the City of Kenner. Design Engineering, Inc. (DEI) provided Construction Engineering and Inspection (CE&I) services to ensure compliance with LaDOTD and AASHTO standards.
The project included constructing a multi-use pathway with concrete paving, relocating a bridge, and installing a pedestrian bridge near Vintage Drive. DEI addressed drainage issues by implementing a new subsurface system and incorporated features such as modern lighting, ADA-compliant elements, landscaping, and drinking water fountains to improve safety and accessibility.
DEI managed site preparation, daily inspections, and contract documentation, ensuring the project was completed efficiently. Advanced project management software streamlined coordination with stakeholders, including the City of Kenner and DOTD.
