Design Engineering, Inc. (DEI) is thrilled to announce that our project, the Ironworks building, has received a preservation award from the Louisiana Landmarks Society. The award-winning projects were completed in 2022 and will be presented at a program and reception on May 24, 2023 at the Marigny Opera House.
DEI’s Ironworks building is a warehouse located at 315 Girod St. that features two Greek Revival-style storehouses dating back to 1850, which were later united and expanded to become a factory and warehouse. The team at DEI rehabilitated the space, creating 15 apartment-style units with a hotel license and a ground-floor coffee house.
This recognition from the Louisiana Landmarks Society highlights DEI’s commitment to historic preservation and architectural excellence. We are honored to be among the select group of award-winning projects that invest in New Orleans’ unique architectural landscape, making the city richer in so many ways.
